Zimmer, Steven D. Fondly known as "Zim" to friends and family, died on February 3rd, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Steve was born on February 13th, 1960 to Daniel and Joyce (Pankow) Zimmer, grew up in South Minneapolis, attended Stanford M.S. and South H.S. With his wife of 41 years, Kim, they raised their family in N.E. Mpls. where he started his company, Zimco Plumbing. With his terrific smile, warm eyes and bear hugs, the one-of-a-kind Zim could bring anyone out of their shell with his stellar BBQ or by merely asking the right questions. He had a deep loyalty to his family, friends, and customers. Steve and Kim left Mpls in 2007 to build their dream house on Bebee Lake in St. Michael, MN. A gathering place for all the family to enjoy - where the kids and grandkids could swim, ice houses dot the landscape, and boaters always give a jolly wave as they pass. He was an avid lover of all things outdoors, his dog Ziggy, hosting 4th of July parties, and evening boat rides around the lake to enjoy a beer with the sunset. He had found his paradise. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Pankow and Zimmer, his daughter Jessica, Wayne Overby, Ginger Stewart, and Milo his faithful four-legged companion. Steve is survived by his wife Kimberly A. Zimmer (Loftman), daughter Anne Krohn; son Justin (Jessica) Zimmer; grandchildren: Ezra, Hanna, Chase, Jaxon, and Isaac; his parents: Daniel and Joyce; brothers: Mike (Pam) Zimmer and Dave Zimmer; in-laws: Syliva (Strawn) and Jim Stewart, Butch (Theresa) Loftman, James Stewart, and Greg Stewart; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncle, friends, and customers. A special thanks to all the staff, but an even deeper thanks to the ICU nurses and doctors at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park. A private funeral will be held at a later date due to COVID and a celebration of life will be held on his favorite day, July 4th, 2021.
