Miller, James Age 93 of Edina went home to the Lord on January 17, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Hazel Miller, wife, Terry and his brothers and sister. Jim was born in La Crosse, WI on November 12, 1927. Shortly after his family moved to Northeast Minneapolis, where he attended Marshall High School. Upon his graduation in 1945 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific. After his military service he continued his education at Dunwoody College. Jim had a long career with IBM, retiring in 1987. While with IBM he received numerous customer service awards. He shared his love of the outdoors with his friends and family - vacationing to countless national and state parks, fishing, golfing, making crafts and playing bridge. He was proud of his 44 years sobriety and dedication to AA. He always saw the best in people and encouraged others to as well. Jim will be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor, which he kept until the very end. He is survived by children, Paul (Elaine), Mark (Sue), Pat (Jan), Mike (Judy), Rose, Julie, and Jim (Carrie); partner of 32 years, Victoria Nipper; 12 grandchildren, Keith (Heather), Kent (Lauren), Kevin (Rhonda), Joe (Alicia), Katie (David) Bowman, Charlie (Liz), Molly, Brian (Jana), Beth (Jesse) Gable, Matt, Mitchel, and Alexa; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Julie Miller; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the tremendous care Jim received from the staff at the Towers and Terrace at the Glenn - Hopkins.
