Emerson, Eugene Emil passed away at the age of 88 on 1/9/2021 at the Veteran's Home in Minneapolis. Survived by his wife, Jackie, they were married for 64 years and they raised 5 children; Tia Clark (Rick), Tamra Emerson-Soule (Greg), Jay Emerson (Brenda), Jon Emerson, and Stephanie Emerson. 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother LaMoyne, and his sister Oveila. Eugene was a veteran of the Korean War serving 1952 - 1954. He was a Gold Card member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers. Eugene had a very active life. He was a downhill skier, cross country skier, and a biker. He also enjoyed sports and hunting. He spent numerous amounts of time interacting with his grandchildren. After retirement he worked for the Anoka County Park System and was also a driver for Anoka County Volunteer Transportation. Later in life he spent winters at their home in Naples, Florida. Coming back to Minnesota in the spring, he enjoyed spending his free time mowing neighbor's yards. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His burial will be at Fort Snelling. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Veteran's Home for the exceptional care given to Eugene.
