David L. Peterson

Peterson, David L. Age 82 of St. Paul. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 12, 2021 after a yearlong battle with cancer. David was born and raised in Hudson, WI. He graduated from UWRF (1960) and earned his MBA from the University of St. Thomas (1964). He spent his career as a Human Resources Manager at 3M for 30+ years, retiring in 1995. David was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed working with his hands on remodeling projects. He was generous with his skills and took pride in his work. David was a natural communicator, putting everyone at ease, and no one was a stranger to him. He enjoyed nothing more than being with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Lloyd. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia (Heffron); children, David (Lynn), Jim (Sandra), Bob (Angie), Katie (Matt) Haney, and Bill; siblings, Midge (Sam) Huffman, and Mary Kay (Doug) Williams; grandchildren, Edward, Timothy, Alexander, Hailey, Grace, Gaby, David, John, Caroline, Joe, and Peyton; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. A private family service will be held, with burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Fairview Hospice for its care.
