Richard James Stearns

Stearns, Richard James passed away on January 11, 2021 at his home in Big Lake, MN at the age of 67. Before he retired, Rick was a sales rep for Stearns Oil and Beaudry Oil and a former co-owner of Elko Raceway and Chippendale Golf Course. He touched many lives with his humor, intelligence, kindness and willingness to help. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR, fishing, hunting and family times go-carting and snowmobiling, puttering on engines, and above all, his family and any activity involving his grandchildren. When asked how his day was, his response was always "Another day in paradise." Rick was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Jeremy. He is survived by wife DiAnn, children Peter (Dana), Matt (Emily), Megan (Nick), Ryan (Jaclyn), grandchildren Tyler, Brandon, McKinley, Meyer, and Evie, sisters Peggy (Mike), Mary Beth, and Shelley, and brother Ron. Rick left a legacy of love and devotion to his family and friends. Memorial services will be at 2PM Friday, January 15 at Williams Dingmann Funeral Home, Big Lake, with visitation starting at 12PM.
