Dietz, Shirley A. (Foyt) forever known as Grandma Shirley, age 79, passed away at home peacefully on Thursday November 19th, 2020. Born April 21st, 1941 to Fred & Alvina (Braaten) Foyt, she overcame many obstacles growing up. From the death of her parents and a younger brother before the age of 9, being separated from her siblings until high school, to losing her youngest son Tony in 1998. Also preceded in death by her brother Fred Foyt, sister Francie Foyt, best friend Marilyn Longaecker, and sister in law Marcella Foyt. Through all of this, she stayed strong, and always had so much love for everyone she came in contact with. If you were lucky enough to know her you were lucky enough. Her unconditional love for her grandkids, Jake, Zach (Stacy), Dylan, Dalton, Dawson (Shawntel), Brittany, Scott, Taylor, Tara, & Megan helped create the amazing humans they have become today. Her great grandchildren Braxton, Renley, Duke, & Avery, brought her so much joy from the moment they arrived. Rest easy Gma Shirley, your grandkids and great grandkids will always know how amazing you are. Duke (Missy) and Stacy (Kevin) were lucky to call her mom. She loved us with her whole heart. Survived by her brother Donald (Peggy) Foyt, sister Sandy (Toby) Faehn, & Tony's widow Taña. Many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to Sharon for being such an amazing support to her, Don & Peggy for always being there, those that took the time to drop a note or come visit her, Nurse Judy and North Memorial Hospice for keeping her comfortable. Just when you thought she could not give anymore she chose to donate her body to the University of Minnesota. Rest easy Gma Shirley we love you and will miss you so much. You will not miss a thing.
