Stewart, Beverly Jean neé Moore 1/16/1938 - 11/12/2020 born in St. Paul, MN, grew up in Grand Rapids, MN, and lived in Minneapolis. Survived by son Dan (Angie Dhruvan) and granddaughter Laura; sisters Linda Comstock (Bob) and Maureen Moore (Gene Friedlander); in-laws from the Stewart/Brown family; and their families, children, and grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Jack Stewart, parents Francis and Dorothy Moore and brother, Richard Moore.

Bev was relentlessly optimistic, naturally saw the strengths and potential of others, engaged in social activism and women's rights, valued diversity and inclusion, thrilled to welcome and be with others, and strived to embrace life with laughter, humor and joyful expression. These qualities were immensely helpful in her work as a guidance counselor with first generation and new immigrant students at the University of Minnesota's General College - HELP Center. They also served her well on her numerous DFL political campaigns and on the welcoming committee in her senior living community. The core of these qualities persisted even through progressive dementia near the end of her life.

Bev will always be remembered as someone who had a zest for living life fully. She encouraged everyone she knew to do the same and to always have fun in the process. She loved seeing the reactions of her family and friends to her political statements and to her ever-present cat and pun themed greeting cards. Bev appreciated nature and exercise from afar. Bev's family is comforted by many wonderful memories.

In lieu of a service at this time and to honor her life's work supporting college completion by low-income, high potential, first generation students, memorials to the Wallin Foundation, wallinpartners.org/ or the Page Foundation, page-ed.org are suggested and appreciated. Private interment at Fort Snelling.
