Vollrath, Roy Fred Age 91, of Hopkins passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2020. Preceded in death by parents William & Selma Vollrath, sisters Avis McCumber & Eileen Vollrath, infant Son, Lee William. Survived by wife Shirley, Daughter Amy (Rod) Earlywine; Grandsons Dylan and Eric (Kendra Steele), & Great Granddaughter Ruby Mae. Also many McCumber and McNellis family relatives and friends. Roy was born in Chicago and raised in Blue Earth, MN. He then served in the Navy from 1950-54. Roy was stationed in the Caribbean and had several fond memories and stories of his time on the ship. He then graduated from MN School of Business. Roy was united in marriage to Shirley McNellis on Feb 12th, 1966 and celebrated 54 years of marriage. He was employed for 35 years at Equifax/Retail Credit as an insurance investigator. After retirement he worked part-time at Profile and Midnite Market. Roy enjoyed fishing, traveling, bowling, and spending his winters in Cape Coral FL with family & friends. Roy was a member of the American Legion for 66 years in Blue Earth and Hopkins. He was very devoted to his family and friends and will be deeply missed. Due to Covid19 a celebration of Roy's life will be held at a later date. A private Service & Christian burial will be held.
