Oyaas, Joan M. was born January 26, 1926 in Starbuck, Minnesota. Joan was the daughter of Gustav and Hannah (Johnson) Hagert. A graduate of Starbuck High School and St. Cloud State University, Joan taught girls physical education In the Buffalo and Hopkins school districts and substitute taught for District 287. She worked as a volunteer making quilts at Shepherd of the Hills as well as serving coffee at many of the church functions. Preceded In death by her parents and husbands Clifford Dornfeld and Robert Oyaas, her brothers Phil, Mark, Tom and David Hagert, and her sisters-in-law Mavis, Ruth, Marlys and, Delores Springer. Joan is survived by sons Tom (Brenda) Dornfeld and David (Carol) Oyaas, grandchildren Tim (Jamie) Dornfeld, Andrew Dornfeld, Kerry (Chris) Fallon, Allan Oyaas (Jordan Friedrich), Robert Oyaas & William Oyaas (Catlin Martens), great grandchildren Shay and Emilia Dornfeld, and Brendan and Ryan Fallon, her sister-in-law Betty (Ron) Wilhelmson, as well as many, many friends and neighbors. Services will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Due to Covid-19, capacity is limited for the service and visitation. A private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
