Nelson, Graham Richard Bruce With broken hearts, we announce that Graham Nelson - son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend - came unstuck in time and accidentally died on May 5. Nothing overshadowed Graham's love for his friends. If Graham was your friend, you will forever know you have been cherished just as you are. He embraced each friend's sorrow, challenge, joy, and triumph as his own. He was a fierce defender of the disadvantaged. We remember his big love, sincerity, wit, passion, zany humor, generosity, and his embrace of being and its absurdity. Born August 15, 1991 in Minneapolis and raised in Cottage Grove, Edina, and West Lakeland, Graham graduated from Stillwater High School in 2010, and in 2014 from the University of Minnesota at Duluth with a BFA, majoring in ceramics. He was owner of Graham Nelson Glass, and worked at Legacy Glass in Duluth and Minneapolis where he pursued his passions for creating glass art and teaching. He also loved teaching children to draw at Young Rembrandts. Graham's other loves included fishing with friends and family, literary fiction (particularly Kurt Vonnegut), and herpetology. Graham is preceded in death by grandfather, Bruce Maynard Nelson of Golden Valley. Graham is survived by parents, Steve Archer Nelson (Mary Bergman) of Maple-wood, Beth Dilla Nelson (Darryl Robinson) of Lester Prairie; brothers, Dane of Seattle WA, Drew (Jeannie) of Woodbury; grandparents, Doris Nelson of Bonita Springs FL, Richard & Bette Dilla of Cottage Grove; aunts and uncles, Donald (Suzanne) Dilla, Mark "Bobo" Dilla, Robert (Mary) Dilla, Tony (Candace) Nelson, Gail (Daniel) Woodbury; nine cousins, many great friends, and his beloved comfort dog, Maasai. There will be a private memorial celebration. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Minnesota Recovery Connection.
