Mack-Wheaton, Anne Catherine left us on April 1, 2020. She was born the youngest of eight on September 24, 1965, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Dode and Warde Wheaton, who predeceased her. Other than a short stint in western Wisconsin, Anne was a lifelong Minnesotan. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Catherine University and a master's degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota. Anne was proudly devoted to her work as a beloved mental-health medical provider. Anne and her surviving spouse Kimberly were married on September 2, 2017, at the home of Kim's parents, James and Susan Mack. Anne's "best woman" was Gretchen Rugg, a loving presence for 35 years. Anne and Kim shared outdoor adventures all over the US and (a favorite) Iceland, with an abundance of laughter and long talks along the way. Anne often could be found on her bicycle (and later, her recumbent tricycle), photographing the outdoors, interested in everything, and occasionally dressed as a rainbow unicorn. We miss the enormity of Anne's kindness, creativity, humor, tenacity, courage, and wicked smarts. During her life, Anne shared love with many families by birth and marriage, family of choice and special friends, and professional relationships. We will gather in her memory (virtually) for a service in mid-May and then later (in person) when it becomes safe to do so.
