At 17, Duane enlisted in the U.S. Navy and from 1951 to 1955 he proudly served on air-craft carriers during the Korean War. After graduating from UND, he married Patricia Stoll in St Paul where they became longtime residents. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage. He lovingly cared for his wife the last seven years of his life. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Fairview Hospice and Brookdale of Edina for their excellent care for Duane during his last 14-month battle with lung cancer.
