Berger, William Louis

(December 31, 1953 - February 27, 2020)

Died peacefully at home holding hands with his family and surrounded by love. Bill was an extraordinarily generous soul with an easy smile, exceptional strength and an adventurous spirit. His courage and optimism were inspiring. Bill's love of bicycles and his uncanny ability to fix anything led him to found Gateway Cycle in 1992. He loved making people happy and seeing someone ride off on a new bike made him very happy. Bill collected vintage bikes and motorcycles, loved to travel and get his hands dirty. His greatest love was his family and Bill was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend. Bill is survived by wife, Joan; daughter Madeline (Jay); son, Billy; and Sofie the Dog; brothers Jerry (Emma), Ron (Sherry), sisters Kathy (Steve) and Mary (Jack), along with many other family and friends. A celebration of Bill's life will be held later in the spring. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Donations preferred to ALS Association of MN.
