His most memorable recent accomplishment was to win the Championship, the Badgers Classic Masters, and the Doubles championship in the Wisconsin State Backgammon Tournament in 2017, a very rare trifecta. Suggested memorials are the American Diabetes Association or Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley. We want to especially thank the excellent caregivers at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, who made Steve's last days comfortable. In addition our thanks to the wonderful care he received at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital and Bethesda Hospital in recent months. Lastly, we were able to enjoy three weeks at home thanks to the exceptional care provided by home caregivers from Olidia. Steve will be greatly missed, but Steve's spirit and joyfulness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
