Kunitz, Richard Frederick Age 92, of Minneapolis, passed away Aug. 28, 2018. Born May 14, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN to Herman & Minnie (Falatic) Kunitz. Graduated from Roosevelt High School. Following graduation, Richard entered the Marines and finished as a Corporal. He furthered his education at the MN School of Business. After finishing school, he joined the Minneapolis Police Force and served for 32 years. Richard was united in marriage to Othelia "Theil" Elton in 1955. They made their home in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park, MN in later years. Richard attended church with his wife, Theil at Lutheran Church of the Master in Brooklyn Center, MN. In later years, they became members of Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park, MN. Richard was a member of the Minneapolis Zuhrah Shrine and was active in the Oriental Band unit for many years. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John W. Kunitz and Howard J. Kunitz. Survived by wife, Othelia; children, Pamela (Robert) McMahan, Allen (Deanna) Kunitz; 5 grandchildren, Julie, Emily, Lindsay, Bethany, Melissa; 3 great-grandchildren, Selena, Avery, Montgomery; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or Spirit of Christ Com munity Lutheran Church.
