JoAnne S. (Pace) Porter

Porter (nee Pace), JoAnne S. of Bayport, MN; formerly Spring Park, MN. JoAnne, Age 88, passed away July 16, 2018, at her Croixdale residence in Bayport. Preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Neil; stepfather, Zeldon (Pat) Pelland; husband, John (Jack) Porter; daughter, Rhondi Gross (Mattson); stepdaughter, Claudia Porter; brother-in-law, William Balamut. She will be remembered with love by her children, John Mattson and Suzanne Devlin (Jack); stepson, Mike Porter (Marti); grandchildren, Thomas Gross Jr, John Devlin III, Daniel Devlin and Allison Porter; great-grand-daughter, Angel Lee Devlin; sister, Claudette Balamut. JoAnne was a wordsmith, who wrote beautiful prose and haiku. She was an avid bookworm and music lover from the Classics to Elvis to Cohen. A day seldom passed without solving a crossword puzzle or a problem for a loved one. A fountain of com-passion and an unwavering friend to all who knew her, JoAnne lifted us with her sense of humor and loving spirit until the very end. Many thanks to special friends Jeannine and Carole for caring and all their help, and to Sandy for easing JoAnne's sad parting with her dear kitty, Belle. We would also like to thank the staff at Croixdale Assisted Living for the wonderful care they gave JoAnne during her six month residence there. Beautiful, little mama, you will be missed and in our hearts forever. Private burial and memorial will be held at a future date.
