Seifert, Gregory Lang Dr. Gregory Seifert died at home on June 27th, 2018 from complications of a stroke. Gregory Lang Seifert was born on March 12, 1935 in Minneapolis, and grew up in Excelsior, Minnesota. He was the son of Dr. Milton H. Seifert Sr. and Laura Dupont Seifert. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (McDermott) Seifert and Mr. Misty. Greg attended St. Thomas Military Academy where he was a member of the famous Crack Drill Squad, which appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. Dr. Greg attended the College of St. Thomas and received his MD from St. Louis University School of Medicine. After medical school, he returned to Excelsior, Minnesota to join the family practice, the Seifert Clinic. A family practice doctor for more than forty years, Dr. Seifert cared for generations of families in the Twin Cities as well as in Wabasha, MN. He retired from medicine in 2010. Greg will be remembered always as an elegant, sophisticated man of dry humor and varied interests. For many years, the Seifert's raised and showed American Saddlebred horses. Greg enjoyed the arts and frequented the orchestra, theatre, and museums. He was always impeccably dressed for every occasion. Dr. Seifert is survived by his devoted partner Sherry Ehlen, daughters Lisa Seifert, Amy McGovern (Joe) and Suzanne Seifert, son Andrew Seifert and grandchildren Grace Seifert, Bernadette Seifert, James McGovern and Gregory McGovern. He was preceded in death by his brother Peter and is survived by five siblings, Milton, John, Mary, Paul and Tom. Visitation on Monday, July 9th from 4-8 PM at the Huber Funeral Chapel, 520 2nd St., Excelsior. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior to service at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4537 3rd Ave. S., Mpls. (612) 823-8205.
