Maegi, Bernard "Ben" Ben Maegi, 49, of Minneapolis, died unexpectedly on March 7th, 2018. He was born in Minneapolis and attended Park Center High School. In 1992, he married his best friend, Julie (Litwiller) Maegi. He attended Carleton College, earned his Masters degree at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned his Phd from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He was a Fullbright Scholar and Professor in the history department at Normandale Community College. Ben was an attentive, considerate man with deep convictions. He loved to travel and enjoyed history, sports and a beer with friends. Most all, he loved being with his family. Ben is survived by his wife Julie, his children Kalju, Rein and Ella, his brothers Ralph (Linda) and Vello, his sister Silvi and many nieces and nephews. Those who wish to remember and celebrate his life are invited to join to his family on Tuesday, March 13th at Our Lady of Peace Church, 5426 12th Ave S., Minneapolis; visitation from 3-5pm, service at 5pm and fellowship to follow. A memorial fund has been established for the Maegi family.
