Chilly weather gained control of the weather in the Northwest about five days ago, and it will persist in the Northwest through the middle of the week.

On Friday however, a warming trend is expected from Oregon into British Columbia where the powerful May sun will help boost temperatures into the 60s.

The dry weather won't last very long. Rain is forecast to move into this part of western North America later Saturday and Sunday.
