Schools recognized for student achievement
Sunnyside Elementary School and Irondale High School, both in New Brighton, and Highland Elementary in Columbia Heights have been selected to receive the 2007 School Spotlight Award. The award was established by the Minnesota Academic Excellence Foundation to identify schools where students have made significant academic gains.
The award recognizes how instruction, curriculum, student achievement measures, and staff training contribute to the student improvement.
Other winners were Badger Independent School District, Bamber Valley Elementary in Rochester, Canby High School, Eastern Heights Elementary in St. Paul, Horace May Elementary in Bemidji, North Branch Middle School and Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington.
