BLAINE

JAN. 11

Theft. A woman called police to report a theft in the parking lot at Kmart, 8949 University Av. NE. The woman said that while she was inside the store, someone broke a window on her vehicle and stole a mobile EKG machine that she uses for work. The machine looks like a laptop.

JAN. 14

Property damage. Police received a call from a woman who reported that a tire was slashed on her vehicle while it was parked on the 1200 block of 89th Avenue NE. There was a note on the vehicle that said "next time leave me a can opener to open my car!!..." Profanity also was written on the note.

COON RAPIDS

JAN. 6

Theft. Police responded to a report of a theft at Cub Foods, 2050 Northdale Blvd. NW. Store security stopped a 14-year-old boy for allegedly stealing two packages of condoms. The boy was released to his father and was charged by a juvenile contact report.

JAN. 14

Theft. Police received a report of a theft at apartments on the 10600 block of Tamarack Street NW. A woman said that she had put 15 bras in a washing machine the night before and that when she went back to the washing machine in the apartment's common area the next morning, the bras, along with two garment bags, were gone.

JAN. 16

Theft. A woman from a home on the 10000 block of Butternut Street NW. called police to report that when she came home from an overnight trip, the house's front door was open. Officers found no signs of forced entry. The woman told police she was missing $2,000 cash, 20 pounds of hamburger and 5 pounds of steak.

JAN. 18

Immigration. Police responded to a call from a man on the 3400 block of River Rapids Boulevard NW. wanting to turn himself in to immigration officials. An officer found the 22-year-old man, who did not speak English. The officer found an employee from a nearby store who could translate. The man said he did not have a visa or passport and wanted to return to his native El Salvador. The officer called immigration, but the office was closed because of the federal holiday. The jail would not accept the man unless he was charged with something. The officer gave the man the phone number for immigration and customs enforcement so he could call himself the next day.

MOUNDS VIEW

JAN. 21

Underage consumption. Police stopped a suspicious vehicle on the 8400 block of Eastwood Road. A 19-year-old Spring Lake Park man and a 19-year-old Mounds View man were cited for underage consumption.

JAN. 22

Theft. A 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on the 5200 block of Irondale Road for allegedly stealing a minivan out of New Brighton. They were both found inside a nearby theater.

JAN. 24

Drunken driving. Police stopped a vehicle for speeding at Wooddale Avenue and County Road 10. The suspect was going 83 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, police said. The 27-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated, possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

RAMSEY

JAN. 11

Drunken snowmobiler. Someone called police to report that a drunken man was driving a snowmobile on the 15300 block of St. Francis Boulevard NW. Police located and arrested the 26-year-old man and charged him with drunken driving and refusal to take a sobriety test.
