The Gophers baseball team lost to North Dakota State 7-4 on Tuesday evening in a nonconference game in Fargo, N.D. The No. 19 Gophers (25-12) had won 11 of their past 12 games, including five in a row.

After falling behind 3-0, NDSU (21-18) scored three runs in the second inning and three more in the third. Drew Fearing of the Bison was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Goalie camp in Blaine

The Schwan Super Rink in Blaine will host its second annual USA Hockey women's national team goaltending development camp from May 12-15.

The camp consists of 18 of the top American female goaltenders who are eligible for international play.

Four Minnesota players have been invited to the camp, the most from any state. They are Shelby Amsley-Benzie (Warroad/University of North Dakota), Breanna Blesi (Maple Grove High School), Chelsea Laden (Lakeville/New York Riveters), and Maddie Rooney (Andover/Minnesota Duluth).

NAHL honors for four

Forward Koby Bender of the Minnesota Wilderness was named to the all-NAHL rookie first team. He is a native of Cloquet, Minn.

Other Minnesota on the six-player first team are forward Reggie Lutz (Elk River) and defenseman Alex Mahnert (Moorhead) of the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and goalie Darion Hanson (East Bethel) of the Aston Rebels.

• Hopkins forward Amir Coffey, who has signed with the Gophers, was rated No. 32 among the final ESPN top 100 basketball players. Minnesota's recruiting class was ranked No. 34.

• Claire Sames of Southwest Minnesota State was named the winner of the Willis Kelly Scholar-Athlete Award, the NSIC announced. Sames, of Shakopee, was a volleyball player for the Mustangs and had a 4.00 GPA majoring in biology and chemistry.
