The Gophers landed a commitment from another top Illinois defensive lineman Tuesday, when Noah Shannon picked Minnesota.

The 6-2, 270-pound Shannon is finishing up his junior year at Oswego (Ill.) High School and committed to the Gophers after making an unofficial visit. He is a consensus three-star recruit who also had reported offers from Iowa, Michigan State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Arkansas and Missouri, among others.

Shannon made his announcement on Twitter, saying, "I am 100 percent committed to the University of Minnesota."

The Gophers also have a commitment from Elijah Teague, out of Chicago Marist, who is the highest-rated defensive tackle in Illinois.

With Shannon in the fold, the Gophers now have 14 players committed for their 2018 class.
