The Gophers women's basketball team's season is officially over, after they were not selected for either the 64-team Women's NIT or the 16-team Women's Basketball Invitational on Monday, following the announcement of the NCAA tournament.
The Gophers finished 15-16 in coach Marlene Stollings' third season, missing postseason play for the first time after going to the NCAA tournament in 2015 and the WNIT last year.
The Gophers last missed postseason play in 2011, which was also their last losing season.
