Sara Groenewegen threw a two-hitter and struck out 10 as the No. 10 Gophers softball team beat Troy 2-0 on Friday afternoon in the LSU tournament in Baton Rouge, La. The victory was Minnesota's 15th in a row to open the season, extending a program record and tying the team record for longest win streak.

Groenewegen is 8-0 with a 0.57 ERA.

The Gophers scored their runs in the fourth inning, on Sydney Dwyer's two-out, run-scoring single and an error. Dwyer has a team-high 19 RBI.

U wrestlers open Big Ten meet

The Gophers have five players seeded among the top four in the Big Ten wrestling tournament, which opens at 9 a.m. Saturday in Bloomington, Ind.

Brett Pfarr (24-1) is the top seed at 197 pounds and Tommy Thorn (15-4) the third seed at 141. Three other Gophers are seeded fourth: Ethan Lizak (21-5) at 125, Jake Short (20-10) at 157 and Michael Kroells (24-7) at heavyweight.

Minnesota was 7-5 overall in dual matches this season, 5-4 in the Big Ten.

U baseball wins in 13th inning

Cole McDevitt's bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the 13th inning gave the Gophers a 4-3 victory over Oral Roberts in the DQ Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium. Minnesota (5-3) loaded the bases when Alex Boxwell walked, Jordan Smith singled and Riley Smith walked.

After falling behind 2-0, the Gophers tied the score on two bases-loaded walks in the fourth. Jordan Smith had an RBI double in the fifth.

Nick Lackney got the win. He entered in the 11th and pitched three hitless, scoreless innings.

• Washington defeated the Gophers 4-2 in men's tennis at the Baseline Tennis Center. Minnesota (9-3) won the doubles point and got a three-set win at No. 6 singles from Marino Alpeza.
