The No. 1-ranked Gophers volleyball team plays at No. 15 Penn State at 6 p.m. Wednesday, a place it rarely has success. Minnesota’s last win on the Nittany Lions’ home court was in 2004.

Both teams are 4-0 in Big Ten matches, tied for first place with Wisconsin.

The Gophers, 12-1 overall, swept Penn State (12-3) last November at the Sports Pavilion, but are 9-45 all-time against the Nittany Lions.

PSU is hitting .309, fifth best in the nation; the Gophers are next at .308. Sophomore setter Samantha Seliger-Swenson of Minnesota ranks second nationally in assists per set at 11.9.
