The boys of Burlesque

The guys behind Minneapolis poster-art crew Burlesque of North America are kicking on all cylinders. After selling tons of posters at South by Southwest, they're ready to unveil another monthly exhibit at their gallery, First Amendment Arts. Since opening the space in 2006, they've exhibited other people's work on a monthly basis, but beginning Saturday they'll feature themselves for the first time. Over the years, they've created posters for such bands as Arcade Fire, the Melvins and Atmosphere. "One of the Twin Cities' finest rock groups" will play the opening-night "Surprise Party," says artist/DJ Mike the 2600 King, who also will perform. (7-10 p.m. Sat., 1101 Stinson Blvd., Mpls., basement rooms A & B. Free. 612-379-4151. www.firstamendmentarts.com)

Burlesque also has its hand in something cool at the Triple Rock. In February, the club's "2-4-1 Tuesdays" returned (two-for-one taps and house pours from 9 p.m. to midnight), with a DJ lineup organized by the Burlesque boys. Each Tuesday, three DJs are featured (such as Soviet Panda, DJ Nikoless, Jimmy 2 Times and Lori Barbero), so it's been dubbed the Weekly Triple Double. Also, you can play old-school Nintendo games like "Punch-Out!!" on a large projection screen. (9 p.m. Tuesdays, 629 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. Free. 21 and older. 612-333-7499. www.triplerocksocialclub.com)

Acadia's grand reopening

After moving to the corner of Cedar and Riverside Avenues, the beloved Acadia Cafe is finally celebrating its "grand reopening" Saturday. Famous for its love of beer and live music, the cafe is splitting the weekend between the two. Tonight, a handful of local brewers will talk beer and Surly's brewmaster will crack open a barrel of the rare '06 Darkness. Mmm. If you're a beer geek and you haven't checked out the new spot, run like the wind -- the place has 28 glorious taps and a longer list of bottled beers. Owner Ted Lowell said he's planning a weekly beer-geek night. On Saturday, the cafe continues its commitment to live local music, with a full day of bands starting at 2 p.m. with Daddy Squeeze and ending with A Night in the Box at midnight.
