Victims benefits follow McMahon's Pub fire In the wake of the fire that killed six people and destroyed McMahon's Pub last week, two benefits are being organized. Owner Dominic McMahon said proceeds will go to the fire victims. The first comes in the form of a darts tournament put together by the Twin Cities Darts Association, this Sunday at the Eagles Club (#34) in south Minneapolis. The second benefit, set for April 17 at the Fort Snelling Club, will feature many of the bands that played at McMahon's, including the Del Counts, the Retractions, Groove Steady, Back Alley and the McMahonnequins. Kevin Nealon will 'pump you up' "Saturday Night Live" alum Kevin Nealon, left, plays Rick Bronson's House of Comedy this weekend. The towering comedian contributed to some of the best "SNL" sketches during its heyday, including "Pumping Up With Hans and Franz." In between movies and stand-up gigs, Nealon can be seen on the Showtime series "Weeds," playing a pot-smoking city councilman.

Bee pollen with your cocktail?

Spoonriver serves some of the most underrated cocktails around. Here's what I've been grooving to lately, courtesy of head bartender Ellie Berglund. Ever tasted bee pollen? It's weird. But sort of refreshing when sticking to the honey-dipped rim of the Queen Bee cocktail (made with Dewar's and soda). Also tantalizing: the Moroccan Mojito (rum, lime, mint, cardamom, rose water) and the Rose Bud (vodka, soda water, lime juice, candied cranberries). Try one before this weekend's final staging of "Brief Encounter" at the Guthrie.
