The Honeymoon is over ... But first, it's time to dance. For two years, the Moon Goons (DJs Jonathan Ackerman and Josh Clancy) have overseen a popular monthly dance night at First Avenue called "Honeymoon." Tonight's big blowout will be their last, as they get ready for new adventures. The final show will take over the club's mainroom and feature a long list of DJs, including My Cousin Roy and Nick Chacona (both from New York), plus Jimmy 2 Times, Soviet Panda and more. Be prepared for "laser writing" and "big inflatable things" suspended from the ceiling, Ackerman said. The Moon Goons made their name by specializing in a wide variety of sounds, particularly dark dance music -- or what Ackerman calls "nightmare disco." While Honeymoon was still doing well, they felt it was time to move on. The duo plans to throw bigger one-off bashes soon. "The Moon Goons are far from done," Ackerman said.
