NAKED SUSHI IS BACK

Some people call it art, some call it demeaning, others call it dinner. Fusion in Uptown is holding a "Naked Sushi" dinner event Oct. 3. The rare instance of eating sushi off a semi-nude person has been staged a few times in the Twin Cities. Thom Pham's long-closed Temple restaurant attracted a large crowd in 2008. Fusion is taking a more exclusive route with only 16 seats at $75 a pop (includes sake and champagne). Appropriately, the restaurant will have both men and women acting as sushi-platter participants.

          PARTY LIKE A FILM GEEK

In its second year, the Twin Cities Film Fest is becoming one of the area's most promising festivals. The six-day fest is underway at its new location -- the West End in St. Louis Park -- and will close out the week with a couple of big parties. On Friday, fest-goers are invited to Pink Champagne, a women's boutique that will transform into a dance club (9 p.m.-midnight. 1645 Park Place Blvd.). On Saturday, the West End's Showplace Icon will host a mixer in its swanky Lobby Lounge. The star of "Like Crazy," Anton Yelchin, will be in attendance. (9 p.m.-midnight. 1621 West End Blvd.)

          TWO MORE BEER FESTS

September should be renamed "Beer Fest Month." Here's two more. First up, Harriet Brewing's Rauchfest on Saturday. The upstart brewery has beer fans crowing about its strong Belgian-style brews. This outdoor party will feature a full lineup of bands (headlined by the New Primitives). On tap will be Harriet's limited-edition Rauchfest beer, a German-style smoked lager. The brewery will also bring back its cold-weather brews, Divine Oculust and Dark Abbey. There will be plenty of German-style brats and smoked brisket, plus live painting, fire spinners, glass artists and more (1-10 p.m. Sat. 3036 Minnehaha Av. S., Mpls. $20, includes one beer. 612-225-2184. harrietbrewing.com.). Also on Saturday is the first annual Minneapolis Beer Fest. Held in downtown, the festival will welcome fans of both micro and macro beers. Bands include the 4onthefloor and White Iron Band. (5-9 p.m. Sat. Parking lots at 4th St. and Portland Av. S., Mpls. $30-$40. mplsbeerfest.com.)
