Both the southern Plains and Southeast will be treated to more very nice weather Thursday. This entire section of the country is covered by a large reservoir of dry air which will promote plenty of sunshine.

In addition, the nice weather will extend all the way to the Dakotas where temperatures will run 20 degrees above normal Thursday afternoon.

So where is all the cold air? Well, it is up there. Arctic regions are now reporting temperatures well below freezing, but as of yet, there is no atmospheric current that can transport that air down into the United States.

So as a whole across the country, an above-normal temperature pattern will persist into the weekend.
