NFL PLAYOFF SCENARIOS

NFC

• Dallas (13-2) won the East and clinched home field throughout the playoffs.

• Atlanta (10-5) won the South and can clinch a first-round bye with a win; or losses by Seattle and Detroit.

• Green Bay (9-6) leads the NFC North. Can clinch the North by beating Detroit on Sunday. If it loses at Detroit, it can make the playoffs if Washington loses to the Giants (assuming Tampa Bay does not meet a complicated set of criteria).

• Seattle (9-5-1) won the West and can clinch a first-round bye with a victory and a loss by Atlanta.

• N.Y. Giants (10-5) have clinched a wild-card spot.

• Detroit (9-6) leads for the final wild-card spot. The Lions can win the NFC North by beating Green Bay on Sunday. The Lions also clinch a wild-card spot if Washington loses.

• Washington (8-6-1) can make the playoffs if it beats the Giants on Sunday, as long as the Green Bay-Detroit game does not end in a tie.

• Tampa Bay (8-7) remains alive but needs seven factors to sneak in as a wild card. The Bucs would need a win, a Green Bay loss, a Washington tie and wins by Tennessee, Indianapolis, Dallas and San Francisco to get the strength of schedule tiebreaker.

AFC

• New England (13-2) won the East and clinched a first-round bye. It can clinch home field through the playoffs with a win or an Oakland loss.

• Oakland (12-3) leads the West and can clinch a first-round bye with a win in Denver or a Kansas City loss in San Diego. It can clinch home field throughout the playoffs with a victory and a New England loss.

• Kansas City (11-4) has clinched a playoff spot and can win the West and a first-round bye with a victory in San Diego and an Oakland loss in Denver.

• Pittsburgh (10-5) won the North; cannot earn a first-round bye.

• Houston (9-6) won the South; cannot earn a first-round bye.

• Miami (10-5) has clinched a wild-card spot.
