Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota will have surgery Wednesday for his broken right leg, and coach Mike Mularkey said the recovery process will take four to five months.
Mariota was hurt Saturday when sacked during a 38-17 loss to Jacksonville. Trainers placed an air cast on his leg before he was carted off the field.
This is the second consecutive season Mariota has missed the season finale because of an injury.
Dolphins won't rest
Miami coach Adam Gase says he won't rest his starters in Sunday's regular-season finale against New England, even though his team already has clinched a playoff berth.
The Dolphins are locked into a road game as a wild-card team, while the Patriots are battling for home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Miami (10-5) will play at Pittsburgh or Houston in the opening round of the playoffs.
Against New England, Miami likely will go again with backup quarterback Matt Moore. No. 1 QB Ryan Tannehill is not expected to play while recovering from a strained left knee.
Etc.
• The Texans are sticking with Tom Savage at quarterback on Sunday vs. the Titans. Savage made his first career start in place of Brock Osweiler on Saturday in a 12-10 AFC South-clinching victory over the Bengals.
• Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett underwent surgery after breaking two bones in his lower right leg in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals. Lockett has a chance to be up and moving in four to six weeks.
