Cleveland coach Mike Pettine said the league plans to investigate the high-profile backup quarterback's domestic dispute last week, an altercation which raised new concerns about Manziel and his future with the club.

Manziel was questioned by police in Avon, Ohio, after his girlfriend claimed he was physical with her when the two had a heated disagreement while driving on an Interstate highway. Colleen Crowley can be heard telling police on a dash-cam video released Monday that Manziel "hit me a couple times" and "I'm in fear for my life."

Manziel was not arrested and Crowley did not press charges. The couple was allowed to leave the scene together and Friday both went on social media to downplay their disagreement.

League spokesman Brian McCarthy said Manziel's situation will be reviewed.

"It is standard procedure to look into any incident that is a potential violation of our personal conduct policy," McCarthy said in an email.

Pettine did not have a timetable on the league's inquiry.

According to the police report, Crowley was intoxicated and made inconsistent statements about Manziel's actions. The couple were interviewed by police along the roadside after witnesses said Manziel had driven at high speed on the shoulder of Interstate 90 and cut across several lanes to an exit.

The couple said they had been drinking alcohol earlier in the day. According to the police report, an officer determined Manziel was not intoxicated and "had consumed only two alcoholic drinks several hours prior."

Zenner out for year

Zach Zenner's season is over. The former Eagan High and South Dakota State rookie running back suffered multiple cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung in the first half of the Lions' 37-34 overtime win over the Bears.

Zenner was taken directly to the hospital from the game and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve this week, Lions coach Jim Caldwell said.

Though Zenner, who suffered four or five rib fractures on the play, remains in the hospital, Caldwell said, "Things are improving for him."

"He's an integral part of what we do from an offensive standpoint," Caldwell said. "Tough, rugged guy, but also very involved in our special teams and just a quality person, as well. Had a chance to visit with him on the phone a little bit [Sunday night], and he's certainly not only hurting physically but certainly hurting for the opportunity. But he's a young guy and he'll heal in due time."

Etc.

• Jets receiver Quincy Enunwa was suspended four games without pay by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The suspension stems from an incident last year when Enunwa was arrested for simple assault on his girlfriend.

• The NFL Network has apologized to Bengals players who were shown naked in the locker room during a postgame interview Sunday in Buffalo. A network reporter was interviewing cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones after a 34-21 win, and the videographer's angle included the entrance to the shower area. Several players were shown naked in the background.

• The Saints decided to make a change at kicker, releasing Zach Hocker and replacing him with Kai Forbath.

• Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota sprained his left MCL, and his status for Sunday's game is uncertain.

• The Texans named Brian Hoyer their starting quarterback for Sunday, replacing Ryan Mallett, who started the past three games.

• The Seahawks lifted the suspension of fullback Derrick Coleman that was imposed after he was arrested following a car crash.

In this photo taken Monday, March 6, 2017, in San Francisco, released confidential files by The University of California of a sexual misconduct case, like this one against UC Santa Cruz Latin Studies professor Hector Perla is shown. Perla was accused of raping a student during a wine-tasting outing in June 2015. Some of the files are so heavily redacted that on many pages no words are visible. Perla is one of 113 UC employees found to have violated the system's sexual misconduct policies in rece
