Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly denied reports that the University of Southern California met with him to discuss its coaching vacancy before the school hired interim coach Clay Helton on Monday.

Kelly, in his third year with the Eagles after a very successful run in the Pac-12 with Oregon, addressed the issue at his regularly scheduled news conference.

"I have never spoken to anybody from USC. I have never e-mailed anybody from USC," Kelly said, "I never had a phone call with anybody from USC. I never had any contact with anybody from USC."

The coach said his agent did not, either.

"Same thing," Kelly said. "No, I am not involved in any college jobs. I've said it before. The same thing happened a year ago with Florida. I have great respect for all of those schools."

One report said people from Southern California actually met face to face with Kelly in Philadelphia on Friday, the day after his team played the Detroit Lions in Detroit.

"I wasn't even in Philadelphia on Friday, so that's wrong," Kelly, who said he was in his native New Hampshire when the supposed meeting took place.

Johnson leg broken?

The Cardinals have not confirmed a report that running back Chris Johnson has a broken left leg. The injury was reported by Fox Sports.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said earlier in the day it was a bruised knee, but MRI results on Johnson weren't available.

Johnson's agent, Joel Segal, did not respond to text and phone messages seeking confirmation of the report that Johnson fractured his tibia in Sunday's 19-13 victory at San Francisco on Sunday.

• Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw will miss the rest of this season after injuring his wrist in Sunday's 25-12 victory over Tampa Bay.

•Dolphins interim coach Dan Campbell fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and gave Zac Taylor primary responsibility for calling plays. Taylor will remain the quarterbacks coach.

Meanwhile, center Mike Pouncey's right foot injury is less serious than first feared, and his status is day to day.

•Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's status for Sunday's game is unknown. Gronkowski was carted off the field Sunday night because of a knee injury, but only had a slight limp in the locker room after the game.
