Buffalo Bills guard Richie Incognito took the next step in his return to football following a 15-month hiatus for his role in the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal.
Three days into training camp, coach Rex Ryan named Incognito the team's starting left guard.
That's a significant step for Incognito, the eighth-year player who signed with Buffalo in January. He had been out of football since midway through the 2013 season, when he was suspended for being a central figure in a bullying scandal that led to offensive lineman Jonathan Martin leaving the Dolphins.
That news came the same day the Bills suspended their offensive line coach Aaron Kromer without pay for the first six games of the regular season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
The action comes two days after prosecutors in Florida dropped a battery charge against Kromer for allegedly punching a boy in the face for using his beach chairs last month.
His suspension begins Sept. 7, in the week leading up to the Bills' regular-season opener against Indianapolis.
Seahawks, Wagner agree to a new deal
The Seattle Seahawks and Bobby Wagner finalized a four-year contract extension to keep the All-Pro middle linebacker with the club after this season.
Team owner Paul Allen confirmed Wagner's extension in a tweet late Saturday night. NFL.com first reported the deal and that it's worth $43 million, which would make Wagner the highest-paid middle linebacker.
