Here are some new cleaning products worth a look-see:

Mold killer: Concrobium Mold Control claims to tackle mold by working as it dries, hardening over the moldy surface, forming an invisible film that physically crushes the mold micro-organism. Reviews are positive as a viable alternative to bleach cleaners.

Green cleaners: Roux Maison may sound French, but this American-made product has Southern roots. Synthetic-free essential oils are at the root of the eco-friendly detergents. Special formulations are fabric-specific to preserve garments including specific lines for everyday laundry, delicates, sportswear, swimwear and stain removers. (www.rouxmaison.com)

Cleaning robots: iRobot, creator of Roomba, has added the Scooba 390 premium floor-washing robot that preps, washes, scrubs and squeegees the floor. (www.irobot.com)

Vacuum and steam cleaners: Eureka has introduced the SuctionSeal line of vacuums that features self-adjusting plates for use on hard floors or carpets. A foot-controlled brushroll makes an easy transition from bare floor to carpet. Other user-friendly features include a 27-foot cord and 12-foot attachment hose, upholstery turbo brush and total cyclone suction technology. Eureka had its new vacuum independently tested against the Dyson DC25 and DC 41, and won. Retail price is $149; $159 for the pet-friendly version.

Shark, meanwhile, is aggressively marketing its Navigator Lift-Away, an upright cleaner with detachable canister for tight spaces. Onboard tools and free steam mop make it a pretty tight system for $199.
