Celebrating Bernstein with dance

Leonard Bernstein inspired some of the 20th century's best Broadway dance numbers, so it's fitting to honor his legacy with movement. New York troupe Keigwin + Company has been on tour all year, celebrating the centennial of Bernstein's birth with fresh dance works inspired by his music. Choreographed by Artistic Director Larry Keigwin, the company's show brings to life early works including "Piano Trio" (1937) and "Sonata for Clarinet and Piano" (1942) as well as the musical "On the Town" (1944) and Bernstein's film score for "On the Waterfront" (1954). Live music is provided by University Symphony Orchestra under the baton of U of M conductor Mark Russell Smith. (7:30 p.m. Sat., Northrop auditorium, 84 SE. Church St., Mpls.; $18-$46, 612-624-2345, northrop.umn.edu.)
