"Star Wars" fans are now able to view the teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the highly anticipated seventh installment of the iconic sci-fi franchise. It was released on YouTube Friday morning.
"Star Wars" fans in 18 states plus two locations in Canada were the first to see the teaser trailer.
Starting Friday morning, 30 movie theaters across the country started playing the 88-second teaser ahead of every movie at chains including AMC, Regal, Cinemark and more participating.
In Los Angeles, the AMC Century City will have the trailer, as will Disney's own El Capitan theater in Hollywood.
Decades after the events of the first George Lucas trilogy, the new film welcomes back Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. But it will be led by newcomers including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver.
Director JJ Abrams' Bad Robot tweeted a tease of the trailer announcement.
