The Gophers officially added their first member of the 2016 recruiting class Wednesday with Patrick School (N.J.) senior guard Jamir Harris.

The 6-foot-2 Harris is a consensus three-star prospect who also received scholarship offers from schools such as Stanford, Creighton and Alabama.

St. Raymond's (N.Y.) four-star point guard Isaiah Washington will sign with the Gophers at 1:30 p.m. CT Thursday at his high school, he tweeted Wednesday. Washington initially was planning to wait until next week.

Harris talked after his earlier commitment about the opportunity to play in the same backcourt as Washington at Minnesota.

"I was definitely excited," Harris said. "Isaiah is a great player. I grew up with him. I played against him a lot. I know we're going to be doing big things in the backcourt in the future."
