About the Rainbow Wahine: Friday's sweep of Penn State extended Hawaii's win streak to 24 matches, its longest since a 26-match string in 2011. The No. 7 Rainbow Wahine (29-1) went 16-0 in the Big West Conference to win their eighth league title. They have swept 18 opponents this season. Hawaii has won three NCAA championships and has been to the Final Four nine times — all under coach Dave Shoji, who is the second-winningest coach in NCAA women's volleyball history with 1,178 victories. Shoji, 67, is in his 41st season since taking over the program in 1975. Junior opposite Nikki Taylor, the Big West player of the year, is ranked fifth in the nation with 5.41 points per set, and senior middle hitter Olivia Magill led the league in hitting percentage (. 415) and blocks per set (1.49).
