Wildfire prompts health warnings
A vast and stubborn wildfire that is the state’s biggest this year was expected to spew smoke through the Labor Day weekend, prompting health warnings. The fire burning east of Fresno grew to 134 square miles and was 25 percent contained. The fire has closed 10 campgrounds.

Kerry warns Russia on its role in Syria
Secretary of State John Kerry told his Russian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, that the United States is deeply concerned by reports that the Kremlin may be planning to vastly expand its military support for President Bashar Assad of Syria, the State Department said.

10th suspect sought in bombing
Thai police said that they are looking for a 10th suspect in last month’s bombing in central Bangkok that killed 20 people. Authorities will seek an arrest warrant for a man who shared an apartment with a suspect who was arrested when a police raid found bomb-making materials in his room.
Yemen
Saudi troops killed in missile strike
Saudi Arabia said that 10 of its troops were killed in a rebel missile strike Friday, raising the death toll in the attack to at least 55 coalition troops. It was the first acknowledgment by the Saudis that they have ground troops in Yemen.
