Duck boat did not get recommended repair

A duck boat involved in a deadly Seattle traffic crash did not have an axle repair that was recommended for the amphibious vehicle in 2013, the National Transportation Safety Board said. Ride the Ducks International issued the warning about potential axle failure and recommended a specific repair two years ago. But the NTSB said the boat involved in the crash didn't have the fix. The crash last week between the duck boat and a charter bus left four international college students dead.

Festival continues after 12 injured in crowd

As many as 12 people were injured after a crowd rushed a stage during a music festival Saturday night at a park near downtown Tempe, Ariz., authorities said. Fire officials said nine people were taken to a nearby hospital after the incident. KNXV-TV reported that two minors were taken from the Summer Ends Music Festival with life-threatening injuries. The festival resumed Sunday for a Kanye West performance.

NASA to announce 'major' Mars finding

NASA will hold a news conference Monday to detail a "major" finding regarding its exploration of Mars. The agency offered little detail other than to say the conference at its headquarters would address a "Mars mystery solved." NASA will live stream the noon conference on its website.

New clashes at Jerusalem holy site

Israeli riot police briefly clashed with young Palestinian protesters at Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site early Sunday. No injuries or arrests were reported following the clashes at a hilltop compound in Jerusalem's Old City, a frequent flash point of violence. Police said a small group of masked Palestinian youths threw stones and firecrackers at Israeli police gathered at a main entrance to the compound.
