Natalie DenHartog hit her fifth home run of the weekend but the Gophers softball team lost 10-3 game to Stanford on Sunday in Stillwater, Okla., as part of the OSU-TU Invitational.

DenHartog went 3-for-3 with a pair of singles along with her fifth-inning blast to left-center.

Sydney Steele homered and drove in three runs for the Cardinal, coached for the fifth season by former Gophers coach Jessica Allister.

In their second game, the Gophers led No. 8 Oklahoma State 2-1 before play was suspended for weather in the top of the fifth inning with the Gophers hitting with the bases loaded and nobody out. That game will be resumed Monday, before the Gophers play top-ranked Oklahoma at 4 p.m., in a game time that was moved up to avoid cold temperatures.

U baseball avoids getting no-hit

Austin Temple took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Notre Dame one-hit the Gophers baseball team, winning 3-1 at the Cambria Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Gophers catcher Chase Stanke broke up the no-hit bid with his seventh home run of the season, an opposite-field shot in the seventh inning.

NCAA Division II field set

The Augustana men's basketball team earned the top seed of the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament in Sioux Falls, with Minnesota Duluth seeded second and MSU Mporhead sixth. MSU Moorhead faces Northwest Missouri State on Saturday, and UMD plays Washburn.

• Third-seeded UMD faces Nebraska-Kearney in the Central Region women's tournament in Hays, Kan., on Friday. No. 5 seed St. Cloud State faces Missouri Southern and eighth-seeded Minnesota State Mankato plays top seed Fort Hays State.

Whitecaps swept

Taylor Girard and Kennedy Marchment each had a goal and an assist and the Connecticut Whale beat the Minnesota Whitecaps 4-1 at TRIA Rink on Sunday.

Asheleigh Brykaliuk scored in the third period for the Whitecaps (5-12-1), who were swept in their final home series of the season after losing 4-2 Saturday. The Whitecaps finish the regular season Saturday and Sunday at the Metropolitan Riveters.
