• After transferring from Iowa last summer, following a troubling two-year tenure, Anthony Tucker had become Winona State's top scorer (15.9 points per game) this year. But another alcohol-related offense -- he was suspended twice for incidents involving alcohol at Iowa -- has derailed his promising career. He was suspended indefinitely this week and he might not get another chance this time. The former Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year scored 24 points against the Gophers during an exhibition game in November. He has the tools, but he hasn't been able to stay out of trouble. Too bad.

• Just when I thought Texas was a potential top seed in the NCAA tournament, the Longhorns lost two in a row. My biggest concern about this team is Jordan Hamilton. The Longhorns' top scorer had a habit of trying to win games last season by taking bad shots. He was 12-for-42 in his team's back-to-back losses to Colorado and Kansas State.
