Just a few weeks after Psychedelic Furs returned to First Ave, the other big star of John Hughes' "Pretty in Pink" movie soundtrack will land there touting its first new album in a decade. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark will forever be ingrained in the mousse-stained heads of '80s teens thanks to 1986's "If You Leave," but it racked up other hits in Europe, including "Joan of Arc" and "Sailing on the Seven Seas." Its all-original lineup, including leaders Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, re-emerged stateside at the South by Southwest fest in March, where the band demonstrated its continued following among younger dance-music and synth-pop fans. OMD's new album, "History of Modern," suits modern and nostalgic listeners.
