Mower County moves to the right
Not since Richard Nixon won office in 1972 has Mower County gone Republican in a presidential race. But off the strength of a heavy turnout in small farming communities such as Lyle, it did so in November, putting its hopes for a better future behind GOP candidate Donald Trump.
