You'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal in these tough economic times than free entertainment and education, but Cinema & Civics, the annual movie/music series in Stevens Square Park, is providing exactly that. Every Wednesday for the next six weeks will offer a musical performance, a locally made short film and a discussion with a local politician or community representative, followed by a feature film. Things kick off Wednesday with a screening of 1986's "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" and a musical performance by Kill to Kill. The rest of the series should continue the fun mix of art and politics. Almost all of the films have a music connection, such as the Cat Stevens-filled '70s cult classic "Harold and Maude" (June 24) and the 1986 fantasy "Labyrinth" (who ever grows tired of David Bowie dancing the magic dance?) on July 1.
