DO YOU BELIEVE?

Opening: Joining this week's opening films "Insurgent" and "The Gunman" in wide release is the theological drama "Do You Believe?" (unavailable for review; PG-13 for thematic elements, an accident sequence and some violence.) Like the others debuting this weekend, it follows characters facing conflicts between compassionate, loving, forgiving activists and hateful, spiteful, revenge-seeking aggressors. The trailer suggests the side receiving the most support is the one winning the battle. Sean Astin, Mira Sorvino, Cybill Shepherd and Lee Majors star in intersecting story lines ranging from a street-corner preacher to a pastor questioned in his beliefs.
