There's simply nothing like Nobuhiko Obayashi's bizarre 1977 Japanese horror film. Those in love with trippy, drugged-out cult films will be right at home. Everything from killer pianos to ghost cats vie for your attention in this wildly colorful and silly (in the best way) tale about a giggly girl bringing six friends to her aunt's house, where things get progressively weirder and more violent. The best thing about "Hausu" is its playful nature. It's fun and not in the least bit mean-spirited -- not scary at all, but consistently hilarious. I mean, come on, a guy turns in to a pile of bananas! Bring like-minded friends, pack the tiny Trylon and have fun.
